About the role
The bids and graphics manager will play a key role in supporting new business and marketing activity at Heyne Tillett Steel. The role is primarily focused on producing high-quality graphics-led marketing collateral and client-facing presentations (including digital and video content), while also providing cover for bid coordination, supporting the planning, writing and submission of tenders, PQQs and competition responses.
Reporting to the head of marketing you will collaborate closely with directors, senior staff, and project teams to produce compelling proposals, presentations, and marketing materials. You will also work day-to-day with the marketing manager and wider marketing team to maintain brand consistency and improve marketing systems and content.
Key responsibilities:
- produce and update a wide range of marketing materials including project sheets, case studies, practice profile content, CVs, topic sheets and brochure-style collateral ensuring high quality and accuracy
- lead the design, art working and formatting of client documents and pitch materials, ensuring they are clear, visually engaging and aligned with the brand
- create PowerPoint presentations for external and internal use, editing content supplied by technical teams
- support digital campaigns by creating assets for the company website, social media and events
- provide basic video editing/motion graphics support for marketing content
- act as a guardian of Heyne Tillett Steel’s visual identity, maintaining brand consistency and tone of voice across outputs
- maintain and continuously improve templates and reusable assets to increase efficiency and consistency
- image and asset management including developing the practice’s image library
- source imagery, manage usage rights and assist with purchasing photography/stock assets
- support the organisation of digital series such as filming and photography in collaboration with the wider marketing team
- monitor bid portals and industry sources to identify opportunities, support internal tracking and response planning
- coordinate the production of bids, tenders, PQQs and competition responses, ensuring deadlines and submission requirements are met
- work with project teams to gather content, draft and edit responses, and convert technical input into clear, compliant written answers
- prepare final documents for submission including compliance checks, formatting, and proofreading
- support post-submission activity such as interview materials, clarifications and feedback.
The ideal candidate – (minimum three years’ experience):
- strong graphic design and document production skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high standard of finish
- experience producing client-facing presentations and marketing collateral in a professional services environment
- experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is essential and experience with Premiere Pro / After Effects (or equivalent) is desirable
- strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Word
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to edit content into a clear, consistent style
- proactive and solutions-focused with a “can-do” approach
- collaborative and confident working with company Directors and senior management
- comfortable extracting information through meetings / workshops and translating it into strong written and visual outputs
- highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- experience coordinating bids / tenders (or similar deadline-driven submissions), including compliance-focused document production
- previous experience in the built environment sector or similar technical industry
