Studio ZEA is growing – and we’re looking for a talented assistant interior designer and stylist to join our close-knit team in Utrecht.
Studio ZEA is a luxury design studio rooted in the world of superyacht design – a discipline defined by precision, craftsmanship, and uncompromising attention to detail. We bring that same standard to everything we do, working across two distinct domains: high-end residential interiors and superyacht design, both interior and exterior.
Our projects range from private villas and full-scale renovations to new builds, custom furniture, and bespoke yacht interiors. Every project is defined by quiet luxury, enduring materials, and design that is tailored entirely to the client.
We opened our Utrecht studio in early 2025. A year in, we’re expanding—and this is a great opportunity to grow with us.
Your role
You will work closely with the design team to help develop concepts and translate ideas into clear visual presentations and material selections. You will support the studio throughout the design process — from early concept research to styling and final presentation.
Responsibilities:
- assist in developing interior design concepts and styling directions for luxury residential and superyacht projects
- create mood boards, material boards and visual presentations to communicate design intent
- research furniture, materials, lighting, fabrics and accessories
- support the preparation of client presentations and design documentation
- produce simple CAD drawings, layouts or sketches to support design development and CGI artists
- maintain material lists, furniture lists, equipment lists and schedules
- assist in compiling FF&E selections, sourcing material samples and managing supplier contact
- collaborate with designers, stylists, CGI artists, engineers and external consultants
- support the studio team in delivering exceptional and highly detailed interiors
Requirements:
- two to four years’ of professional experience in luxury residential, hospitality or superyacht interior design
- a strong eye and knowledge of different styles and looks, of materials, composition, furniture and suppliers
- ability to produce clear and visually compelling presentations
- strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- a proactive, flexible and hands-on mindset
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), AutoCAD and Microsoft Office — Rhino is a plus
- excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- located in or available to relocate to the Netherlands with existing work permit
