About the role
This is a varied and hands-on role for a technically strong, proactive individual who can take ownership of the interior architectural side of our projects. You will work closely with the Head of Interior Architecture, Directors and Designers, leading the technical design and coordination of projects from concept through to completion on site.
You must be highly proficient in BIM, ideally Revit or Archicad, with a strong understanding of model coordination and information management. Experience in Vectorworks, InDesign and Photoshop are a plus. A good understanding of UK Building Regulations, the planning process and construction detailing is essential.
This role also involves coordinating with consultants and contractors’ submissions, attending site and supporting designers within the team. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects at once are essential.
Responsibilities:
- collaborating closely with the head of interior architecture, directors and the wider design team
- leading the BIM model on your projects, setting up views, sheets and templates to studio standards
- producing and checking drawing packages from concept through to construction, including technical, joinery and detail drawings
- coordinating with structural, M&E and specialist consultants, including clash detection and resolving design issues
- developing specifications, finishes schedules, sanitaryware schedules and FF&E schedules from the model, with the interior design team
- presenting design proposals to clients and attending client and design team meeting
- running site visits, inspections and snagging, and responding to contractor queries
- produce site reports and developing solutions to address site queries
- supporting and reviewing the work of designers
- maintaining organised project information and ensuring drawings and documentation are correctly issued
- understanding and experience of basic project management tools
- reviewing and approving shop drawings, material samples and submittals
Requirements:
- RIBA/ARB Part 2 qualification (or international equivalent with ARB prescription)
- a minimum of one years’ UK practice experience logged in PEDR
- advanced proficiency in Revit or Archicad, including families, templates, schedules and sheet setup
- practical experience of BIM coordination and ISO 19650 information management
- working knowledge of AutoCAD, and ideally Vectorworks, InDesign and Photoshop
- sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations, the planning process and construction detailing
- experience of high-end residential or interior fit-out projects is a plus
- a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help across all areas
- smart and professional appearance for client-facing situations
- a detail-oriented problem-solver with excellent time management skills
- full UK driving licence
- right to work in the UK
Benefits:
- a PEDR supervisor within the studio will provide mentoring, supervision and sign-off, supported by ongoing guidance and mentoring
- early finish at 3pm every Friday
- 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays
- additional company-discretionary time off during the Christmas period
- birthday off as holiday
- flexi-time available after one month of employment
- salary is competitive and dependent on experience
