Design International is on the hunt for an interior designer to join its London-based team.

Design International is an international architectural practice providing retail, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use property consultancy services for clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North Africa.

We are looking for an interior designer with experience in retail, residential and hospitality design. In this position, you will be a part of our Interior Design team and responsible for producing and developing drawings of the interiors for our retail, commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects under the supervision of the Team Leader. You will also be a person of contact for the more junior members of the team.

Duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • preparing and developing drawings, models, images, material and mood boards and other related documents to the design, in line with the client brief
  • liaising with our architects and external suppliers
  • ensuring that project documentation is archived correctly
  • contributing, or otherwise assisting, as required

Skills and qualifications required:

  • fluency in written and spoken English, additional languages of advantage
  • a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in interior design or a related field such as interior architecture or fine art
  • at least three years professional experience in a design office
  • previous experience juggling more than one project
  • good knowledge of FF&E
  • proficient in the following design applications: CAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp; proficiency in other 3D and rendering software (such as Rhino, V-Ray or 3DS Max) is highly desirable
  • the ability to produce beautiful hand sketches with be of advantage
  • excellent design and communication skills, confident to communicate at all levels of the organisation and in a culturally diverse environment
  • able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • excellent organisational skills
  • a strong team player, but also able to work independently if needed

Start date: immediately

Remuneration: competitive and subject to your level of experience and expertise; plus annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
