Graphic designer
Chetwoods is looking for a graphic designer to join its office in Birmingham, UK.
Chetwoods is an architectural practice with offices in London and Birmingham.
We are looking for a talented, highly-motivated and enthusiastic graphic designer with strong creative and layout skills. The role involves producing high-quality, well-designed documents and reports, presentations and applications; the candidate will work closely with the directors, project teams and marketing manager on a regular basis.
The ideal candidate will be social media savvy and have an interest in marketing as well as excellent design skills.
Whilst we are keen to hear from candidates who have a wealth of professional experience, we are also interested to meet less experienced designers who can demonstrate design flair, confidence and the enthusiasm and self-starting attitude required. Above all, we are looking for someone who can add something new to the Practice.
Skills and experience required:
- expert user of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- great aptitude and enthusiasm for graphic layout and typography, in both digital and print channels
- in-depth understanding of the print process and materials
- ability to translate business requirements into marketing oriented creative design
- designing and producing client presentation material
- rendering architects’ concept drawings for design presentations
- managing and maintaining graphic outputs to maintain Chetwoods brand guidelines
- developing design concepts for bespoke presentation and marketing material such as advertisements, press releases, company logos, branding and client brochures
- ability to work from concept brief to completion autonomously
- excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with people at all levels
- highly proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint
- experience of video editing, 3D software and OpenAsset will be an advantage
- experience within the architectural industry will be a distinct advantage
Key responsibilities:
- assisting architectural teams with graphic and diagrammatic tasks
- translating technical drawings into clear, communicative and eye-catching products
- design and production of communication and marketing materials
- design and production of competition and speculative bid submissions
- enabling successful communication of our company identity
- co-ordination of in-house graphic reference materials and standards
- liaising with printers and contractors as required
- Chetwoods is entirely PC based and uses Microsoft Office software
- additional desirable software skills would include AutoCAD, Sketchup and OpenAsset
