Shape San Francisco market strategy for leading global design firm.
Are you San Francisco’s most creative business development leader? Do you want to work with a genuinely fun team who will value your input deeply? Do you like the idea of being part of an award-winning global firm with the opportunity for some travel – to Australia, Asia or the UK?
We’ve been in business for 80 years but it is early days for our firm in San Francisco. That makes this role absolutely critical to support our business as it grows – and there is a significant opportunity to influence strategy and set and realise short and longer term goals. We want to design places that people love, that unlock real social, cultural and economic value.
You’ll be responsible for leading engagement with existing and potential clients and bringing in new business leads and opportunities. You’ll have the autonomy to intelligently pursue high quality opportunities and design persuasive pitches informed by a rich, diverse and internationally recognised portfolio of projects, and the opportunity to design a program of engagement to build relationships and reputation in the local market.
This role reports directly to the head of clients and business development and HASSELL principals and you’ll have the support of a local PR agency and global business development and marketing communications teams.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the next stage for our global design firm as we build on an already successful entry in to San Francisco and look forward to on an exciting future in the US.
About you
- you know everything there is about San Francisco and have a natural understanding of what drives decision making in the city
- you’re relentlessly curious – what you don’t know you’ll find out!
- your personal network in the design, corporate or property world is strong, and you love making great connections between people and organisations
- you have a passion for design in any and all forms and are a creative thinker yourself
- you believe in the value of your own individual talent but you know you are even more brilliant as part of a team
- you care deeply about the purpose of your work and the broad positive impact it can create
Other important things we’re seeking:
- 10+ years’ experience in a marketing or business development role (preferably within the professional services or corporate environment)
- strong oral and written communication skills
- time management and organisational skills
- tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or communications
- high level of personal energy, maturity and initiative
- CRM knowledge would be highly regarded
