Faye Toogood has an opportunity for a studio manager/PA to join its team in London.
Faye Toogood is looking for a dynamic individual with keen eye for detail, impeccable communication skills and a desire to work in a small creative studio, to join its rapidly growing team in east London.
This is a rare opportunity to become a vital member of multidisciplinary company working across fashion, design and interiors, in a pressurised but rewarding environment. Applicants must have a positive attitude and enjoy being the ‘go to’ person in the studio. This is a demanding role that is heavily based on organisation and admin. There is no career progression from this role into design – budding designers need not apply.
The ideal candidate will have previous at least four years experience in a similar role. This person will demonstrate a proactive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced design studio. The successful candidate will be naturally hands-on, flexible and reliable, and will have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload. Time management and organisational skills are a must. This person will work closely with the whole studio and report to the director and financial controller.
Responsibilities will include:
- general administration – monitoring stationery supplies, filing
- basic bookkeeping and support to the financial controller. Management of the studio’s petty cash
- managing, running and staying on top of the maintenance of the studio
- liaising with IT, phone and broadband companies ensuring smooth running of the phones, server, computer and printer
- front of house – answering and filtering calls, liaising with clients and suppliers, welcoming visitors and being the first point of contact to the studio
- ensuring health and safety, fire and first aid in the studio
- maintenance of the database, mail outs and correspondence for the studio
- PA to director involves handling all emails, calendar management, organising and booking all travel itineraries
- support to the designers, press and marketing to ensure the general smooth running of the business
- maintaining the atmosphere of the studio. Arranging all studio visits, lunches and celebrations
The ideal candidate:
- excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects
- applicants must be confident working on Apple Macs, and demonstrate a very good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Word, Excel and Adobe Suite (plus a basic level of Photoshop and InDesign)
- ability to manage budgets where appropriate
- excellent communicator. Very good written communication skills
- applicants will be English-speaking, well-spoken and articulate
- a team player and enjoy working in a small team
- able to work under pressure in an intensely busy environment
- passionate about design, fashion and art.
- good command of Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
- eligible to work in the UK
