Cream and Browne is seeking a temporary middleweight interior designer to join its team in Staffordshire, UK.
Cream and Browne Lifestyle is a Midlands based interior design/build and refurbishment company offering an excellent opportunity for a middleweight interior designer with a minimum of two years experience or who has worked as a junior and wants to take the next step up. The successful candidate will work closely with the director and will also take a lead on multiple national and international high-end domestic and commercial projects. Responsibilities include day-to-day project management and working closely with clients, suppliers and reporting to the director of the company. The successful candidate will have the fantastic opportunity to work on multiple national and international projects simultaneously to gain invaluable experience within this field. Although this position is based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, the successful candidate would be required to travel to different sites across the country in order to manage the designs on various projects.

Because of the nature of this role, you would be required to have excellent CAD design skills as well as a flare for FF&E sourcing as you will have the opportunity to be involved in all areas of design, from conceptual design to fulfillment.
Key responsibilities:
- to support the director or leading on multiple national and international projects simultaneously
- to make and attend client appointments, establish a brief and write clear notes
- develop design concepts based on client brief
- to produce detailed 2D floor plans/drawings in AutoCAD based on the initial survey
- to maintain and develop technical CAD skills to ensure C&B works to industry standards.
- to produce 3D renders for final boards
- to select furniture, lighting, soft furnishings, floor coverings and decorating materials to required brief and budget
- liaise with suppliers, current and new to obtain relevant samples of products for design
- design bespoke furniture and structural elements for a range of clients and be able to sign of technical drawings from manufactures
- produce schedules for client estimates
- to create and present design boards with supporting notes to the design director in readiness for the client briefing
- answer the phone, record and pass on messages to the relevant person/department
- assisting with the structuring and managing of projects
- to send supplier purchase enquiries and orders, along with technical drawings and visuals and chase to ensure goods received
- to instruct and deal with queries from a variety of contractors to ensure that design is implemented correctly
- to assist the director in site meetings and advising on technical queries to ensure that designs are implemented correctly
- to assist and attend client meetings advising on detail aspects of the design and leading demonstrations of 3D models and visuals
- to use efficient filing techniques to store design materials.
- maintain cleaning standards in the studio
Essential personal skills:
- an interior design or interior architecture degree
- at least two years professional experience in a design capacity
- passion and high commitment to all elements of interior design
- a self-motivated individual, happy to work on own initiative or part of a team
- the ability to present coherently and liaise directly with clients and sub-contractors
- strong planning, organisation, communication, and people management skills
- the ability to interpret briefs, work to deadlines and be adaptable whilst working towards deadlines
- experience of managing strict budgets, whilst working towards deadlines
Essential IT skills:
- proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS max working on IOS platform
- SketchUp 3D rendering
- Adobe Creative Suite – including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Team viewer
- Apple MAC
This is a temporary full time role or part time position from August-October 21, working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lichfield Studio. This position may lead to a permanent post.
