Freelance furniture designer
at Nebihe Cihan Studio
Nebihe Cihan Studio is looking for a freelance furniture designer to join its team in London.
Please note that this is not a remote position and candidate must be based in London.
Requirements:
- candidate must have minimum of four years’ of experience in furniture design. Experience in product design is a plus
- candidate must have great rendering skills in SketchUp or equivalent rendering software
- candidate must have high proficiency in AutoCAD and must be able t0 produce furniture drawings for bidding
- candidate must have great knowledge about materials
- candidate must have knowledge about vintage and mid century furniture
- Italian and/or French speaking is a plus
- candidate must have great written and verbal communication skills
- great knowledge in upholstery is required
Responsibilities:
- candidate will be in charge of sketching, creating prototypes and modeling for production
- candidate will work closely with the creative director during the concept phase and is expected to lead the project independently
- candidate will produce 2D and 3D drawings for client presentations and pricing
- candidate will be sourcing new materials and will be in charge of the bidding process with manufacturers
- candidate will be in charge of trafficking samples needed for the projects
- candidate will be in charge of reviewing and approving prototypes and shop drawings
- candidate must have great value engineering skills
- candidate must be a team player
- candidate must have great knowledge in luxury furniture
