Furnitubes International is hiring a design manager/team leader to join its team in London.

The role
You will be accountable for the successful design output of Furnitubes. We estimate 75% of your time would be leading projects and working on design developments, with 25% managing the rest of the team, so you get to be hands on whilst also managing.
Responsibilities
New product and materials development:
- lead new product development. Originate new design concepts that meet business case brief and develop these through to fully detail well-engineered and appropriately costed new products This includes, performance standards, production viability, and prototyping
- manage external design relationships and partnerships with external designers, consultants and outsourced expertise
Product configurator:
- lead company-wide product configurator software development project
Design department staffing and development:
- manage staffing of design team on technical sales enquiries, design requirements and drawing requirements, ensuring work is spread out evenly
- responsible for design quality management to meet ISO and BSI standards
- responsible for professional development and training of the design team

Furnitubes is an ambitious and dynamic outdoor furniture manufacturer, under new ownership, looking to build our brand and increase our market share. We’re passionate about enhancing outdoor spaces and getting more people outside through well-designed street furniture.
Our head office is in London Bridge, London and our factory is in Kent. We offer hybrid working between Head Office and Home, with a few days each month in our factory collaborating with the manufacturing and engineering teams.
