Senior sustainability designer

Levitt Bernstein is seeking a senior sustainability designer to join its team in London.

We are an award-winning design practice of architects, urban designers and landscape architects with studios in London and Manchester. Our focus is on the needs of the end users of our buildings, listening to our clients and communities as we design.

We are looking for a senior sustainability designer to support our head of sustainability and our growing sustainability team in the creation, dissemination and implementation of environmental strategies and projects within and outside of the practice.
You must have three to five years’ experience working in sustainability consulting or a similar position in an architectural practice or building services consultancy. Ideally with a master’s degree in environmental or sustainable design.
We also seek the following:
- an understanding of net zero carbon and recent industry guidance such as LETI, Architects Declare, RIBA 2030 Climate challenge and UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard
- knowledge of current regulations, policies and standards relating to environmental design
- an interest in carrying out energy and carbon calculations; producing energy and sustainability guidance for clients and designers; writing evidence bases for planning policy; raising sustainability aspirations for retrofit; and promoting environmental passive design
- ability to carry out data analysis
- ability to enthuse others about the subject
- excellent presentation and communication skills
- knowledge of Adobe Suite beneficial
- knowledge of Revit and SketchUp an advantage
- involvement in LETI or Architects Declare an advantage
- experience in housing is desirable
We have introduced hybrid working to allow staff to work from home on agreed days. We would welcome applications from candidates who would prefer to work remotely on a more regular basis, within the UK. Visits to our London and/or Manchester studios would be required on a regular basis.
