Based Upon is looking for a workshop and maintenance technician to join its team in London, UK. 

Based Upon are looking for a full-time multi skilled workshop and maintenance technician to join our team. Working in a dynamic environment you will be responsible for reactive and planned maintenance on our equipment, facilities and fabric aspects of the building and general workshop duties including stock management and health and safety. Applicants must have strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and be able to work alone as well as part of a team.

Key responsibilities:

• provide safe and effective on-site maintenance to ensure the efficient running of all equipment and machinery in accordance with relevant procedures, policies and specifications
• ensure that a wide range of production equipment is effectively maintained to support production activity, equipment includes but is not limited to spray booths, extraction, bench saw, fork lift trucks and hand held tools
• record and document all maintenance work and advise on improvements
• undertake all repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard and in a safe manner
• maintain appropriate stock levels of consumables for workshop and complete stock check
• on occasion, direct and supervise outside contractors carrying out maintenance ensuring work is completed safely and satisfactorily
• monitor the condition of all fire, security and emergency lighting systems
• undertake general site and building maintenance activities as required
• complete health and safety checks, compile records and risk assessments
• carry out any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time

Essential experience and skills:

• minimum of two years’ experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
• basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
• competent in the use of office IT systems including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
• physical agility and manual dexterity

Desirable experience:

• forklift truck driver’s licence
• health and safety training, completion of risk assessments etc
• working at height on ladders and mechanical platforms
