Heyne Tillett Steel is hiring a marketing and communications coordinator to join its team in London.

Heyne Tillett Steel is an award-winning structural and civil engineering practice with a reputation for intelligent design and innovative, practical solutions. Based in central London and established in 2007 by directors Andy Heyne, Mark Tillett and Tom Steel, the practice now has over 130 people. We are currently work on exciting and innovative projects throughout the UK for many of the leading developers and architects.

We are looking for a marketing and communications coordinator with a hands-on, pro-active approach, preferably with experience within engineering, architecture or the construction industry. You will be working directly with the head of marketing and communications and directors across all aspects of marketing including the website and social media; creating and updating marketing collateral; preparing presentations; undertaking PQQ and tender submissions; editing images and managing the image library.

Role purpose:

  • developing campaigns, across all platforms, to support the practice’s marketing strategies
  • pro-actively generating website and social media content, photography/graphics including: writing news items for new projects with engineers, events, talks, staff news, office updates etc and looking for potential news items on social media, in construction press etc.
  • managing and updating the website – adding news stories, projects information and images, people etc.
  • writing articles on key projects, topics and people within the practice.
  • Creating and updating marketing collateral e.g. project sheets, CVs, practice pages etc.
  • prepare marketing documents and presentations as requested by directors and associates (in InDesign)
  • organising industry and practice events such as MIPIM, BCO, WAF etc.
  • designing ad-hoc marketing material for events and activities e.g. boards, brochures, adverts, email footers, talks etc.
  • creating award submissions
  • managing the image library – including naming, copyright, project confidentiality, requesting images from project teams etc.
  • editing images in photoshop for presentation, website and marketing use
  • ad hoc support for the bid and graphics coordinator in creating PQQ, EOI and tender submissions

Experience and attributes:

  • experience in a similar marketing and communications role within the built environment
  • proficient in InDesign and Photoshop, experience in PremierPro an advantage
  • experience of managing website content and social media accounts essential
  • excellent graphic design and written communication skills
  • knowledge of and passion for the built environment and design
  • self-motivated and able to prioritise activities to meet deadlines
  • pro-active and hands-on approach
  • calm under pressure and able to manage competing demands
  • high level of attention to detail
  • able to communicate with people across all levels
  • enthusiastic and energetic
  • photography and film knowledge desirable
