Another Country has an opportunity for a sales manager to join its team in London.
About us
Founded in 2010, Another Country designs and manufactures contemporary craft furniture, aiming to make sustainable products that are built to last, both in terms of construction and style. Our clients are trade, wholesale, and direct retail consumers, both UK and internationally based.
About you
You will ideally have a background in furniture (or related) sales and have a good knowledge of contemporary furniture and brands. You will be personable, well presented and bring a confident approach to the role. A sociable team player who can fit in well within our small team, as support from the other areas (design, production, logistics, accounts) of the business will be required. You must be able to prioritise and work well under pressure, ensuring that deadlines are met and schedules kept. Importantly you are engaged with and informed about environmental issues and sustainable business practices.
The role
As the sales manager you will be the main point of contact for all sales, this will include following up on enquiries as well as generating new clients. The sales manager will work with designers, specifiers, architects as well as direct consumers. Given the varied client base you will need excellent verbal and written communication skills. A friendly, interpersonal manner. You will be confident on the telephone and in person, speaking with professionals at all levels worldwide, on a daily basis.
Product training will be provided, however a good level of industry knowledge is a must, as well as being able to navigate and understand sales processes. Experience of CRM, using ERP and/or website e-commerce software, familiarity with Cin7 or similar inventory management system and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Fluency in English is essential.
Main duties include, but not limited to:
- manage the appointment calendar, greeting and assisting customers in the showroom
- react to and following up on, all inbound consumer, trade, and wholesale sales enquiries – raising and sending quotations and Pro Forma invoices
- liaise with the production and logistics team to keep customers regularly updated on their orders, coordinating, and resolving aftercare matters
- proactively searching for and pursuing new leads from online sources and industry journals
- engage with prospective customers to build and maintain professional relationships and drive sales
- work to monthly and annual sales targets and manage the sales forecast, producing sales reports when required
- negotiating with customers to convert quotation to sale and drive sales
- keeping up to date with industry news, maintaining an awareness of our direct competitors and holding an understanding of the comparative products and price points
- representing the brand and debuting products at design fairs
While the role will be mainly showroom based, you will be encouraged to arrange and attend meetings. These will be with UK and internationally based customers, architects, interior designers, and contract dealers alike. An ability and willingness to travel is a must.

Hours: full time 9:30am – 6:00pm (Mon-Friday*)
The role is based on 40 hours per week.
*Occasional Saturdays will be required; you will get a day back in lieu.
