Pluck Kitchens is looking for a junior designer to join its design team in London.
About Pluck
Pluck kitchens celebrate beautiful materials and practical design. Our bespoke furniture and cabinetry is pared back and clutter free, a style that works in period and contemporary homes. We enable our clients to create delicious combinations drawn from our assortment of colours and woods. We design and craft our cabinetry and furniture to order, under one roof in South West London. Our projects are UK-wide and beyond.

Job description
This is a role that requires a mix of creative flair, practical space planning as well as excellent communication and organisation.
You will be part of the design and sales team, interpreting the plans and desires of our clients and translating them into beautiful, practical kitchen designs.
As part of the design team you will also be meeting and liaising with clients in person, on email and over the phone. Presenting concepts in 2D drawings and 3D visuals.
Responsibilities the role will include:
- seeing projects from concept through to completion
- creating and designing Pluck kitchens from both an aesthetic and functional point of view (training for this will be provided)
- using CAD software to design and present each project
- working as part of the design team in making clients feel welcome in the showroom and to document their kitchen wants and needs
- participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve skills and kitchen design knowledge
- help with keeping the showroom looking as good and inviting as possible; being mindful of the experience of the clients coming to visit
- assist in other duties as needed, eg contacting suppliers, site visits and arranging and posting samples
- weekend and evening availability required to ensure clients are able to visit the showroom when they are able to
Experience and abilities we would like you to have:
- a passion for design including a background or experience within the design industry. We strongly believe in the benefits of a broad experience from different creative fields. Your experience need not be solely from kitchen design but you will need to be able to transfer these skills into a kitchen and interior environment
- excellent skill in CAD, 2D drawing and preferably 3D rendering. Being fast and accurate and able to produce drawing packs to a high standard and conveying ideas quickly and effectively
- meticulous attention to detail and an eye for good design
- a drive to win new projects through great design and client communication.
- fantastic communication skills. Personable and approachable in both client facing and internal capacities
- excellent spoken and written English
- excellent organisation skills, the ability to be across multiple projects at different stages at once and a wider awareness of the importance of maintaining the Pluck service our clients have come to expect
- an ongoing enthusiasm for developing skills and acquiring further knowledge
- a wider interest in art, craft and design
The position is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with some weekend and evening work to hold client appointments.
No fixed start date but we would like to fill the position as soon as viable.
Based at our studio, showroom and workshops in Brixton, London.
Salary starting from £30,000 and rising depending on experience and the right candidate.
